Which wallets and apps support Hyndle?
Hyndle is currently preparing wallet and application integrations. Standard EVM wallets can hold and transfer a Hyndle NFT, while human-readable resolution requires each wallet or app to integrate the Hyndle resolver. A public integrations directory will be published as support goes live.
Can one address own a name while it resolves to another address?
Yes. NFT ownership and resolver records are separate. The owner can keep the Hyndle name in one wallet and configure supported address records to point elsewhere.
Can I create subdomains under my Hyndle name?
No. Hyndle uses a flat namespace. A name such as anything.you.want is one complete, independent name—not a subdomain of you.want or want. Owning one name gives no rights over another dotted name.
Can I change the address a Hyndle name points to?
Yes. The current owner controls the name’s resolver records and can update supported addresses without transferring the NFT. Records are isolated between ownership generations so a previous owner’s settings do not carry into a new owner’s control.
Why are Hyndle names represented by hashes on-chain?
A deterministic hash gives every normalized name a fixed-size identifier that smart contracts can process efficiently. The token ID is derived from the normalized name, while the readable name remains available for display and metadata.
Which characters can I use?
The current policy accepts lowercase Latin letters, numbers, dots, and hyphens. Names must be 1–64 characters and cannot start or end with a separator or contain invalid consecutive separators. Protected Web3 suffixes and wallet-shaped identifiers are unavailable.
What does registration cost?
Pricing is fixed in ETH per year: 1–2 effective characters cost 0.50 ETH, 3–4 cost 0.05 ETH, and 5+ cost 0.0027 ETH. Dots and hyphens do not reduce the effective character count. A separate non-refundable 0.00053 ETH reservation fee applies.
Why do I have to pay a reservation fee?
Hyndle is in beta, and every reservation goes through manual review before approval. The fee deters bad-faith or automated submissions—like mirroring an identity that already exists elsewhere, such as vitalik.eth—and protects the queue from spam; it will be removed once automated checks make this unnecessary. We never reject a reservation arbitrarily—if it clears review, it's approved. The fee is non-refundable and separate from the per-year registration price.
How long do I have to mint after my reservation is approved?
Once Hyndle approves your reservation, you have 72 hours to request your mint authorization and complete the mint on-chain. If that window closes before the mint is completed, the reservation expires and the name becomes available for another eligible registrant.
How long can I register a name for?
You choose the duration in whole years, with no product-level maximum. The contract calculates the total directly from the name’s pricing tier and the selected duration.
What happens if I forget to renew?
After expiration, the name enters a 30-day grace period. The existing owner can renew during grace, but transfers are restricted. When grace ends, the name becomes reclaimable by another eligible registrant.
How could I lose access to my name?
You can lose control by losing the wallet keys that own the NFT, transferring it, or allowing the registration and grace period to expire. Hyndle cannot recover a private key or reverse an on-chain transfer.
